Ceremonies
honour the important events in our lives ~ being born, being named, coming
of age, getting married and dying. They also mark other thresholds which we
cross: for example, moving into a new house, separating, getting divorced
and renewing vows. Sometimes they address specific issues which need healing
like a house clearing or a letting go ceremony for someone wanting to move
on in their life.
Today, there is a growing appreciation
of the diversity of belief held by individuals who no longer feel they
belong to an established religion like Christianity. There is also
recognition of the value of creating ceremonies which fully express the
wishes and aspirations of the persons wanting to hold the ceremony.
Alternative celebrants like Interfaith
Ministers work with people to create authentic and heart-warming ceremonies
for all occasions.
