My psychotherapy
practice is based in Frome, Somerset, where I offer an approach which
draws on both Western psychological models and the wisdom and compassion
of Buddhism.
Psychotherapy is
a relationship in which deep attention, listening and responding is
brought to you and the issues that you bring. This may include bringing
awareness to how the events of your childhood and past history are
currently affecting you in your life and relationships.
People come to
psychotherapy for many reasons including:
-
A change in
circumstances or difficult life event such as loss, redundancy or
bereavement.
-
For support
to cope with difficult feelings such as anxiety or depression.
-
Relationship
difficulties
-
Past or
current trauma
The intention of
psychotherapy is to offer a safe, confidential space in which to
explore, express and reflect on your inner world within an empathic,
supportive and professional relationship.
I graduated with
an M.A. from the Karuna Institute and Middlesex University and am
currently working towards accreditation in Core Process Psychotherapy
with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I established
my psychotherapy practice in 2006 having initially qualified as a
physiotherapist many years ago. As a psychotherapist in training I am
able to offer lower cost psychotherapy. I have practised and taught yoga
for many years and remain committed to the understanding of human health
and healing within a larger spiritual dimension.
