Liz received a BA in Dance from
the University of California (UCLA). She has lectured and taught dance
for Bath City College and the University of Bath. It was through her
career in dance that she became aware of Pilates. When she was
incapacitated by spinal injury, she turned to Pilates as a means of
rehabilitation.
Inspired to share the benefits
of Pilates with others, Liz became a fully qualified Pilates teacher
with Body Control Pilates and furthered her Pilates training with the
Pilates Foundation in machine and apparatus work and Pilates for
pregnancy.
Liz teaches Pilates at Pure
Moves (Frome) and the Scott Studios (Castle Cary). She is head of
Fitness at Circomedia, Centre for Circus and Performing Arts. Liz offers
group mat work classes and individual sessions in mat and machine work.
Liz has conducted professional
instructor training workshops for the Pilates Foundation on the benefits
of Functional Pilates. She has also run professional development
workshops on Pilates for physiotherapists and osteopaths. Liz has
produced a specialist Pilates DVD for people over 50 (www.realpeoplepilates.co.uk).
